• Yes, it displays a blinking number of messages. You can erase from either.

• Dixie - The VTech IS8151-4 has a built in answering answering machine that can record incoming messages. The telephone system has a message counter window and a button on the telephone base that can delete a message. Thank you, -VTech Support
