“How do I get the auto-attendant to default to after hours messaging during weekends. The system answers during the weekend as if it were working hours. It seems it can only do this based on hours but not days (and holidays).”

Hi - You need to select the auto attendant announcement manually before the weekends then switch it back again to the normal announcement after.
