Hi - We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the VTech CS6709. Please make sure that the handset is within base range and away from common source of interference. Like many electronic devices, a simple reset may resolve the issue. You can reset the handset by unplugging the battery on the cordless handset for a minute. Reconnect and test.
