• The phone has caller ID. As long as the caller begins to leave a message, you can screen the call.

• The incoming phone number will be displayed on the screen of your phone or even on your television screen if it is hooked up to the same line. If not, you can always let the answering machine answer and take it from there.

• If you mean phone numbers- only if they are already programmed into your directory (which you have to do yourself). I do not know about the answering machine part...

• Messages, as they are being left, can be screened from the base or cordless handset. See CALL SCREEING in the user's manual. Thanks!
