“my vtech 6929 base will not charge or register either handset.Is there a way to fix this or is it time to buy a new one?”

Megs - We are sorry to hear that your VTech CS6929 does not work as expected. Make sure that the AC adapter is securely plugged in on both ends. You can also reset the telephone base by disconnecting the AC adapter from the power. Reconnect the power after a minute then test again.
