“I purchased an extension phone (CS6909) for father-in-law's base (CS6949, corded) but cannot figure out how to register it together. The instructions do not mention the CS6949 base. I have seen the extension display "Registering" but it fails.”

Someone told me to look in to FAQ section, and I found "Press and Hold FIND HANDSET on the base for about four seconds until the IN USE light turns on and it shows REGISTERING, then on the handset, press the QUIET #, and then it will show REGISTERING. The CS6909 extension does work with the CS6949 base.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.After the base display says "Registering" press and hold the "#" on the cordless phone for 10 seconds, then place the cordless phone on its charger. The cordless will then show "Registering". You will then hear a beep from both the base and the cordless, letting you know they both are registered. >>I've had the cs6949 for several years; the cordless that came with the cs6949 was damaged so I just purchased the cs6909....it does work with the cs6949 base. I hope this helps.
