“Does the corded handset still work if the power goes out?”

This all depends on where you live and your service. For example I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY and there the corded handset works fine no problem. Where I live now I have to make sure I have a backup battery. Verizon provides one automatically when they do an install and with Comcast Xfinity you’ll need to purchase a backup battery for the router. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense. No the less as long as you have that in place the corded handset will work in a power outage.
