• The base station gets plugged into the phone line cord. It sends out a wireless signal to all other handsets. The remote handsets sit in a charging cradle that needs to be plugged in to an electrical wall plug.

• Hi - Only the telephone base of the VTech DS6151 requires connection to the telephone jack. The telephone base can register up to 12 cordless handsets and the compatible expansion handset is the model DS6101. The additional cordless handsets does not require connection to an AC power as it is wirelessly registered to the telephone base. Thank you, -VTech Support
