• Rob - The answering machine of the DS6151 is independent per line. The messages for both lines cannot be saved in the same mailbox. Thank you

• There is an power on and off button for each line, you can have both on, just one line or both off. The light comes on when voice mail is activated and a voice prompts "calls will be answered" when it's activated.
