6 rings is the maximum for VTech phones. Each ring cycle is approximately 6 seconds, so that gives you more than 30 seconds to view Caller ID and answer the call if you so choose. The beauty of a cordless phone system is having a cordless handset close to you, so you don't necessarily have to run to answer a call. Thanks!
