“It seems that line 2 won't work for our fax machine. When I try to send or receive a fax it doesn't go through and then prints off a verification report that says busy/ no response. Is there something I can do to fix this?”

Lexy - the VTech DS6251-2 does not have the capability to determine if the incoming call is a fax or a regular call. We recommend to set your fax machine to Fax auto detect. If your using the answering system, ideally, the number of rings for the fax machine should be set to a lower value than the number of rings for the answering system with the fax auto detect option active. This way, all types of calls regardless if it is a regular phone call or a fax call will be screened first before being directed to the correct path.
