Cameron - We are sorry to hear that the VTech VM5251 does not work as expected. We recommend you to reset the baby monitor by disconnecting the power and the batteries. Wait for one minute before reconnecting the battery and the AC power then test again. If you are still having issues with the unit, you can contact our Customer Support at 1-800-595-9511.
