Are the two side buttons programmable? null

The side buttons are programmable via the Wacom Feel driver, but this will only work on Wacom-equipped devices like the Lenovo Yoga 720. Microsoft Pen Protocol devices like the Surface Pro 3 and upwards will not run the driver. The buttons are pre-configured to erase and right click on MPP devices.

It probably depends on the emulation. For the Spectre x360 13", it uses Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) which doesn't have programmable buttons- at least at this point.

The ability to customize the side-switch will be dependent on your device as well as the application that you are using.
