Hello David You would first want to find out how much power your Air Compressor requires. As long as the power required by your Air Compressor is less than 5,000 Watts, Yes it should. We would recommend you take a quick look through our blogs and read over some of the informative articles that describe and explain some of the more general concerns that you will have when installing an inverter system. The first thing you would want to do is make sure to estimate and size up your power requirement for your devices by adding up the total Wattages of all the devices you are intending on plugging into the inverter. Then in order to correctly choose an Inverter, we would recommend slightly going over your requirement (approx. 20%) to provide some leeway with the power draw in case your devices draw more than is stated on their specs (sometimes things fluctuate when in use and draw more power than is stated). Please read over these blogs for more detailed information: http://wagan.com/blog/Inverter-tech/ http://wagan.com/blog/battery-specs-inverter/ http://wagan.com/blog/inverter-connecting/
