Dog hair to thick it would hang up or bog down. I Would suggest a simple hair clippers like the Whal color pro plus, hair clippers kit at walmart $24.00 is all you need none of all the more expensive ones. I just bought one about a month ago to replace my old clippers for my self for my dogs and a plus you can touch up a person's beard or head hair.
