• Hello, The fireplace does heat the room! It can heat up to 400 sq. feet. Flames and heat can also be controlled separately, so you can turn on the flames for ambiance without the heat if you'd like. We hope that helps!

• I would not recommend this for it's heating source. It looks pretty but if you turn the heat on it gets really hot and not a good thing for the electronics around it.
