“I do realize it says that it holds up to a 50” TV but it says it’s 44” wide. Why wouldn’t my 55” TV work with this stand? My TV is 45 inches wide. I’m ok with it sticking out 1 or 2 inches.”

Hi, The largest recommended TV for this stand is 50' because of the over hang. It becomes easier to bump the further out it sticks. However the stand can hold up to 250 lbs, so the choice is yours!

In my opinion a 55" will work (hang over maybe an inch or two on either side) but be careful of the base of the TV. My tv does not hang over the stand. My base doesn't have the two "legs" at the bottom of the TV. Mine has a semi-circle at the base of the tv. The "legs" of the TV will need to fit within the length of the tv stand. This is a really nice stand. We had Best Buy come out an put the stand together and set up the tv. They did a great job and I am very pleased with the stand. Looks great!
