• Hi Kim, Thank you for asking. Definitely an understandable concern. These fireplaces get up to 89.6 degrees. They can get quite warm if you were to touch the glass. We do not recommend putting things in front of the fireplace insert itself, nor touching the glass when it is on. I hope this helps. Thank you.
