- Answer There is no need for a resistor since the resistor is built in inside the adapter. No need for a diode either since all components are built in. QuestionCan you connect the door chime and adapter to the ring doorbell?

- Answer Yes, to some models, the chime is wireless and movable, plug it in and connect it to the ring app. The power supply (I believe) only connects to certain ring models.
