It has a rechargeable battery. Two of us use the unit 2x/day and the battery lasts about a week. The unit is pretty small so that it is easily moved to where you have a plug.

A full charge will last for approximately 4 weeks when unit is used once a day for one minute a day. A complete recharge will take 4.5-5 hours. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
