Yes this SSD does not have a heatsink also yes it should work in the M.2 pcie slot in laptops

Please try again later.yes this one does not have a heatsink but they do sell with heatsink on but for more money probably like 10-12 dollars more and for this ssd to be compatible with an laptop if you want the full speed of gen4 the laptop it self needs to have gen4 speeds if the laptop has only gen3 it will still work just it will only run in gen3 speeds and make sure the laptop has a m.2 NVMe 2280 connection.
