- A: AnswerGen 4 drives differ from previous ones and will get hot under sustained use. It can benefit from a heatsink. That being said, if you are installing it in a laptop make sure to check how much room you have, or if your laptop has a built in cooling solution for it. It is not mandatory to have one, the drive will work as-is for 90% of usage cases without it so don't be too worried if you can't get one in there.

- A: AnswerGen4 is backward compatible with the Gen3 slot, among others Gens, so it'll physically fit. Gen4 cards have more potential than Gen3 hardware so you may not see the full Gen4 speeds others do. Expected typical speeds.

A: AnswerDefinitly yes on the newer N50 machines. If its the older n50-600 era pc's. There is a slot for this drive. Some came with m.2 cards. Others they used a 2.5 ssd drive. If it already has the primary drive as the m.2 and you need more space and want to replace the m.2 that is in there currently you will need to reinstall windows, drivers and games. If you have the 2.5 ssd you can keep that and add this in the available slot for more room. Then reinstall your games on to this drive. On another note if yours is using the m.2 slot and your out of room you could add a 2.5 sata ssd to the pc and move your games , pics, etc to that drive and save some money, time and effort. Moving games to an ssd is fine as most titles showed limited gains running on an ssd vs nvme drive.Answered by Torry

My son had mentioned he wanted to buy a “storage extender” I’m sure it’s called something else. I took a shot at trying to get it and I Wasn’t even sure if I had even gotten the right one. But my son sure says he loves it. Couldn’t have made a choice without the Best Buy employee in Spring. He was amazing at explaining the difference in the items I was looking at

WD SN850X SSD
This is the best SSD drive I have purchased. Not only that it was the lowest price but the fastest. I have purchased 2 more of these and I highly recommend it. You can used this also with PS5. Just add heatsink.
