Absolutely not! This is a consumer grade SSD, intended for use in a personal computer for home use. For a surveillance video recorder you are going to want a WD Purple HDD, not an SSD, and not the WD Blue or Black or other series. The WD Purple series is designed specifically for surveillance video applications...the others are not. You will need an HDD instead of an SSD for surveillance video applications because there will be multiple video streams writing to the disk continuously. This will cause a consumer grade SSD to reach the end of its life expectancy very soon.
