Yes, you can connect this SATA 3.0 6Gb/s solid state drive to a SATA 2.0 3 Gb/s port on your motherboard. The SATA 3.0 6Gb/s SSD's are backward compatible with SATA 2.0 3Gb/s ports. However, performance will be restricted to SATA 2.0 levels.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It is compatible, but you won’t have much of an improvement due to slower bandwidth. I have an old HP laptop I threw an ssd in, and the sata 2 system actually seemed to run better with the original HDD. Then again, it was a single core processor.
