Hi, The WD Blue SSDs are available in either a 2.5”/7mm cased or an M.2 2280 model to evolve with smaller and thinner computers. With form factors to accommodate most laptops, desktop PCs, and small form PCs, a WD Blue SSD is ready for the job. Moreover, we would recommend you to please contact to your motherboard or computer manufacturer to check whether the drive will fit and support. -Need Help? However, it's new enough to have a SATA hard drive, so yes, this drive will work in its place. If the old drive is still working, it _should_ be possible to clone the old drive onto the new one and have Windows work right away as if nothing had changed, but things don't always go as smoothly as that; you should be prepared for the possibility that you'll need to reinstall everything. (Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.) I have to say, though: Windows Vista is DANGEROUSLY out of date; it should not be exposed to the Internet! We may not like all the changes in newer versions of Windows, but behind the scenes there have been huge improvements in security that Vista doesn't have. Surfing the Internet with Vista is like driving onto a modern battlefield without armor plating - it's just ridiculously dangerous.
