• It will most likely fit in your iMac however I think the original drive has a temp sensor. If you use this one without an aftermarket temp sensor the iMac cooling fan may run at max speed all the time.

• Yes it will. Make sure you format it for Macs rather than for PC. Google how to do it. You need to do this for almost any hard drive you buy.
