It should work well. You might prefer getting a 7200 RPM drive just for the performance boost if you want to install Windows and programs on it. I use one for a backup drive. It works well in a USB drive enclosure and also when hooked up to the motherboard directly using the SATA III interface. Good Luck to you!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later."Mainstream " drives are equal to the previous label of "Blue" and "Performance" equal to "Black" (Faster and uses more power than above) for a gaming system you will want "Performance" drives if you want faster load times. You will notice big differences in games like "World of Warships" the big difference whether you get into a match after it has already started or not. if you want to make sure you load quick, a SSD will be a big jump over regular hard drives. But stick with Western Digital if you go with a traditional Hard Drive, they are much better in performance than Seagate.. Trust me on that.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There's no reason why it should'nt, However, if you are using a gaming motherboard, and are gaming, I would suggest investing in a Solid state drive for your OPS, and use a drive like this as storage for games music etc, and look into using ramdisk, for extra Speed for gaming, if you have enough RAM in your pc, as the game loads from storage onto your ram amd operated from the ram. Hope this helps.
I would recommend:
