• To break the tie: YES. Check out the OWC website for similar compatible SSD's for your iMac. https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc/imac/2007 This product is just a drive by itself. You will probably want the 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch adapter (or you could just tape the SSD to the inside of your iMac. You will probably also want to get the digital thermal sensor that (only) OWC sells. Without the thermal sensor your iMac's HDD fan will run full-blast all the time. You could get an app to control the fan speed manually, but you won't know what the temperature of your SSD actually is. The fan speed you set manually may or may not be fast enough to keep it cool under the condition that it is running at the time. Any comparable SSD to this one will increase your iMac's speed significantly.
