“Is this item something I would use to transfer all my pictures and videos from my desktop .I have a Lenovo all in one desk top I got it back in like 2013 . So im just looking for something I can transfer my photos and videos to and keep them safe.”

You can use the drive to copy/move & backup the data from one computer to keep it safe.We would recommend you to follow the 3-2-1 backup strategy.
