Hi Parker, Please be informed that the WD Easystore Drive is a plug 'n' play device tested and designed for Windows and Mac computers. You can use the drive to move files from old to new pc. If both the desktop computers are on windows platform you can use ready drive out of the box. If you want to use drive on cross-platform like windows to mac or vise-a-versa then it needs to be formatted in exFAT file system.
