This drive is made more for portability than for speed. If you are looking for a fast loading drive I would recommend the Samsung T5 drive, it costs more but is considerably faster and for system files you need the speed. But if that is out of your price range I would go for the 4tb desktop external hdd's they are faster and more stable than the usb powered variety.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It would be good for storage purposses, however the speed is 5400rpm, if you want to load the instruments as fast as possible I would recomend better to get a SSD hard drive instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming your system has a USB 3.0 or above interface, this drive should be very speedy and allow for quick transfers of your files. Be sure which port is the USB3 port and use that one. Many computers have both USB 2 and USB 3 ports.
