Yes, this external hard drive should work fine with WinXP, but it will be very slow unless you've installed some kind of memory optimizer. This is also a USB3.0 compatible drive and I don't think that any WinXP systems were USB3.0 compatible unless you installed a USB3.0 card. This will be a very slow drive for your purposes. You might be better served by ugrading your PC and operating system.

Hi Maxx, It may work, but we do not recommend as support for Windows XP ended. After 12 years, support for Windows XP ended April 8, 2014.
