“I have transferred large files to it, movie back ups and tv shows. It seems to go very fast but can feel the drive spinning fast in the drive. Is that normal to go faster with the higher transfer rate?”

• Yes it is seems to be normal. I have noticed the difference when connecting to USB2.0 or 3.0 ports though the port speeds are significantly different in download times for same file sizes. I would imagine it has to spin faster to be able to write with the USB3.0 transfer speed and would make sense.
