Can this Ext HD be used with a Lap Top? null

As long as the laptop has USB ports it should work. Drive has a separate power cord that you'll need to plug into a power outlet.

Yes, I have TWO of this identical drive connected to my HP OMEN gamer laptop, using external USB ports and cables. Direct hook-up, NOT through a hub. My laptop has three USB ports. They work just fine, the computer recognized them and installed them immediately. Literally plug and play. They also come with a few WD Software pieces which are useful.
