• Take it back and exchange for another one. WD seems to have some quality control issues and there are random bad ones out there.

• Gotta test them as soon as you buy Harddrives. The store warranty is probably expired but the manufacture warranty may still cover you if you have your receipt. You will likely have to pay for shipping back to the manufacturer.
