That is exactly what I am using it for. It works fine, but it will have to be formatted for use on the PS4 first just like any other drive that you would use. I was using a smaller external drive on the PS4 previously. This means that I had to transfer files from the smaller drive to this one as well as getting the drive formatted, but the whole process was straight-forward. I use the drive as the install location for all the games on the PS4. After having this drive in place for a few months of considerable use including taking the PS4 and this drive on a weekend trip, I have had no complaints so far.
