It should work but depends how old your router is. I"ve plugged this into a raspberry pi 3 and still able to see 8TB and this little machine only supports usb 2.0 transfer as far as I know. I have a netgear router w/ 1 usb 3.0 port and it works, able to see 8TM and my router is about 4 years old.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This hard drive can be connected to a router if the router has a 3.0 USB port. I have this drive connected to a USB 3.0 on the router and I access all of the media on the drive through the router. It does not have any Ethernet ports on it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on the router, it have to be more recent than AC1900 to address it, some older model are not being updated. If you router is older than AC1900, you should consider an upgrade.
