The Easystore 8TB drive is in a standard USB 3.0 enclosure. There is no hardware encryption on the bridge board or anything proprietary that I could find, so it should work fine if the host device supports USB 3.0/3.1 or 2.0 interface and 8TB capacity. However, it is advisable to check with your device manufacturer regarding compatibility with external drives. The internals include a WD80EMAZ 5400RPM helium filled drive with the same firmware as the NAS drive (up to late 2017 the similar WD80EFX Red drive was used). Performance is typical for a 5400RPM drive, so you have to decide if that is suitable for the application.
