• This just stores data. Whatever device you are wanting to use to grab this data must also be capable of reading and transcoding the data on the fly. This device does not provide "movies" per se. It only holds data. Data could be movies or anything else.

• If the router has Wi-Fi enabled and a USB port it should be able to be accessed on the network.

• It could be used to share files. But if you have an available pc to connect it to you can use the free Plex streaming program the drive comes with to stream it easier.
