The drives used. This one has a red NAS, while the other ones use, most likely, a WD blue. The easy-store is better for long-term storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most of these comments are from a few years ago. Manufacturer changes specs from year to year. Look for updated information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The easystore has backup software, the My Book does not. The My Book is encrypted with an ex-fat file system as well, so beware. I have a 3Tb My Book that encrypts everything. it also had a RED drive inside. The My Book software also has a remote access feature where you can access your files form anywhere over internet. Which was cool. Me, personally, I like the WD essentials. No wacky Linux format, no encryption, no backup. Just sweet old copy-and-paste. Red my files from anywhere, connect to anywhere. Done.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I heard that the My-book is not good for NAS, but the Easy-store is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One other difference that I do not see mentioned yet is the length of the manufacturer's warranty: 3 years vs. 2 years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.usually it''s the other way around - the My Book has a longer wty and the Easystore is exclusive to BestBuy. The My Book might also support encryption IIRC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it's that the easystore does not come with built in encryption. There may be some other differences but I tossed my research out when I finally made my mind up to purchase the easystore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's probably the drive type. The 8 TB Easy Store has a WD Red with 256 MBA cache. The 4 TB is going on sale 7/20 and you can order if you are a member. Log-in to see price.
