Your current backup drive is probably just fine. It has to be formatted to a common format that will work with both of your computers. I'm assuming that one computer is a mac and one is a PC, or maybe they are running different operating systems. Find out a format that both of your computers will support, then format your existing drive to that format, and you should be able to use it on both. Good luck.
