Yes you can. Mine has over 200,000 mp3's and many FLAC music files. It didn't even make a dent in the amount of storage my music took up.8 terabytes. That's going to last me for over 5 - 7 years

Not sure what you mean exactly by "download". Yes you can easily store cds to the drive and then either play them directly from the drive or move them back to your computer (iTunes etc). You'll want to create folders for each cd you upload and label them carefully.
