I don't see why not. I have a 4TB for my Xbox & it works well. Pretty quick speeds but I don't have a large basis of comparison
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It'll work with the Xbox One X, and it should perform well. The drive inside is a WD Red, which has a maximum speed of 5900 RPM and 150 MB/s sustained read/write, where the internal hard drive the Xbox One X has is limited to speed of 5400 RPM and 140 MB/s. It's theoretically capable of performing better, then, since both it and the Xbox One X support USB 3.0 which caps far above 150 Mb/s, but once the drive is loaded with a few terabytes of data it will slow down a bit. So it should be a perfectly fine drive. The only caveat I would add is that it tends to run a bit hot, so maybe don't put it inside an enclosed entertainment center or the like when it's running.
