• These are expected to have a different type of HGST drive in them (HGST is owned by WD). It is a air filled drive instead of helium, which tends to run quieter, but in turn can generate more heat. In these cases it tends not to be a problem, however if you are shucking them ensure you have adequate cooling. (they also don't appear to have the 3.3v issue the helium drives did)

• Hi River, With this WD Easystore desktop drive, you get connectivity with USB 3.0 devices as well as backward compatibility with USB 2.0 devices. The package also includes WD Discovery and WD Backup software. It comes pre-formatted in NTFS for Windows so reformatting is required for macOS. Need Help?
