• If the files are compatible. I do not think it would be a problem for photos and some documents. But Windows specific files (System, etc) would not work as they are running on a different Operating system. If you are asking can the Mac read the Windows formatted drive the answer is yes. It does not have to be formatted for Mac in most cases.
