• The company doesn't state, but I would not be surprised if the rotation isn't variable. These drives could easily be a WD green drive. These drives are designed to be external drives and thus performance is not the issue. I do know that I have several of them, and accessing the drives doesn't seem to be slow or an issue. Also look at the price vs performance, if performance is an issue, then a Black WD is a better choice, but this drive is internal, and is 5 years of warranty.
