“Will this do a complete system and file back up if computer should crash? Would software programs like Word and Excel be backup and able to recover?”

• I am using it for backups for my Mac using TimeMachine and it works fine. Very fast and quite. For a PC you would have to restore everything as it uses a registry. Yes, it could be used to backup all of your PC.
