“I am trying to connect my My Book 8TB to my Netgear Nighthawk x10 router to use as a Plex Media Server. After a number of discussions, I reformatted to NFTS first and then added my media as MP4. Anyone have success?”

Ummm... Why not connect it to a desktop and have Plex server running in the background? That's what I did; its easy to set up and it works just fine. And I have a variety of media; AVI, MKV, MP4, audio files and photos. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No I have not tried that approach. I have two WD 8TG drives, both are connected to a PCIe to USB-3 adapter card in my desktop. One is my primary drive and the other is my back-up. I then use Goodsync software to back up my files, which are mostly RAW photo files and photoshop PSD files. Wish I could be more help. The drives are great by the way.
