• No. Since the HDD inside is a desktop hard drive, the computer can't supply the power needed.

• Needs to be plugged into it's own power supply, that is included in the box.

• As a Desktop 3.5" hardrive, this drive requires more power than USB can provide and therefore requires the included AC adapter.
