“I have the previous model that was discontinued not to long ago my question is if the same thing will happen to this one? because I don't want to spend the money and later on lost support on this one too.”

Hello, We would like to inform you that the remote access has been disabled on the my cloud devices which doesn't support OS5. However, My Cloud PR4100 supports OS5 , which is the latest firmware update. My Cloud OS5 contains critical security updates and support for it is guaranteed through 2026. -Need Help? Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Back in Nov 2021 Western Digital has announced that it is ending support for prior generations of My Cloud OS, including My Cloud OS 2 and 3. The company has also announced that devices compatible with My Cloud OS 5 will no longer support previous generations of My Cloud OS. https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/29230 The PR4100 is on the list to be supported and My Cloud OS 5 has support for it is guaranteed through 2026. I would think it should last until then, hopefully, a new OS will be out by then and the device is still supported.
